🌱 Sustainability:

In our Mediterranean garden, guests have the opportunity to relax and socialize in a natural environment where olive trees and Mediterranean plants have been planted. We are currently in the process of applying for a grant and procuring solar panels, which will be installed on the roof of the center, aiming to significantly reduce electricity consumption. Continuous waste separation and selective waste collection are also being carried out. We strive to minimize water consumption as much as possible. Sensor-operated faucets have been installed in all public areas. Waste separation and recycling are particularly important aspects in our center. We have our own composting system, avoid single-use products and packaging, and have specifically designed waste and food disposal concepts in place. We strive to use as many biodegradable and recycled types of packaging as possible.

Emphasis is placed on sourcing local produce from our claster company, with a focus on family-owned agricultural farms whenever possible. We collaborate with the student center to provide assistance during major events, and we are open to offering internships to students.

Our story:Apfel Arena is a privately owned, newly opened cultural and sports center born out of the vision of its owners, who aimed to create a space that would serve as a daily gathering place for the local community while extending the tourist season and attracting guests and visitors to Makarska beyond the summer months. With over a year of successful operation, Apfel Arena has proven to be a unique center in Croatia, serving as a hub for numerous events in the city and surrounding area. This is evidenced by the multitude of performances, concerts, movie screenings, organized tournaments and sports competitions, seminars, receptions, conferences, and more that have taken place on the 14,000 square meter premises. In the Mediterranean garden, spanning 2,000 square meters and surrounded by olive trees, two gazebos with barbecue facilities and a bocce court provide an ideal setting for informal gatherings.
Barrier-free concept:All areas are accessible and barrier-free. The entrance to the center has a wheelchair ramp, a lift connecting two floors, and the front row seats in the conference hall are also accessible via ramp.
